Description
A user can upload pictures to their album, they can add a title, and a description, choose privacy options ( public, visible to members, visible to friends, private) and enable/disable comments for the pic. Users can edit and delete their pictures.
Admin can set limit for picture upload total count, to enable/disable privacy options and limit for each of them, if description can be empty, pic per page in the default query. Admin can globally enable and disable comments on photos, and control whether or not thumbnails of uploaded pictures are posted on a user’s wire.
For each uploaded picture, the plugin will generate a thumbnail image and a gallery size image. The admin can set thumbnail size, gallery image size and if original file should be kept.
Site admin can edit or delete any picture. They can also hide members’ pictures without deleting them.
At the user level, picture comments are connected to a picture’s activity. Enabling comments for a pic also enables post an activity for that pic. Disabling comments also deletes previously posted activity for that picture.
Templating should be easy as the pics template class works in a way similar to the wp posts template.
Configuration
This latest version of the plugin has been upgraded with an admin panel, allowing all plugin admin options to be set from the WP back end.
You can override template files, you only need to create `album/` in your theme folder and put your files there.
Disclaimer
Tested only with WP 2.9 and BP 1.2, don’t know if it work with previous versions. This is an early release and should be used carefully. You can test this plugin in my BP Album+ test site.
I’m using it also in a production site, so is not that bad. Obviously is provided on an “as is” basis without any warranty. I’m not liable for any damage or losses.
I created this plugin because i needed it for a work and bppicture-album plugin wasn’t enough flexible. As I started from scratch (well, from the bp1.2 skeleton component) this is not a mod of bppicture-album, is not compatible with it, so please don’t install this if you have bppicture-album and you cant migrate the db tables by yourselfs.

Known issues:
- if a public pic that have comments is changed to private, then the pic activity will be hidden from sitewide stream, but the comments will not (i think this is a bp issue, but i need to look more into it)

What file controls the template for the Upload Picture page? I’ve got it working and have adjusted the template for all the other parts of this great plugin. But the “Upload Picture” page still uses the original template that places the material in the ID “content”. I just can’t spot where to edit that part of the template.
upload and edit page are controlled by screen functions, you can see them in the bp-album-screens.php

Just hit a weird bug, running 0.1.3 on WP 2.92
When a user is signed in as a subscriber or contributor and attempts to access another user’s gallery, there is a Friend issue. The problem does not exist if the user is Author or above. The problem seems to be related to having Friends disabled in the BuddyPress component setup. Enabling Friends also fixes the problem (obviously, I was planning to keep Friends turned off for my particular site).
Safari returns:

I would like to thank you for what your doing here. I think its awesome and kudos to you for your plugin.
I have been trying to use your plugin since 0.1.2 and have never been able to get it working correctly.
I’m using:
Wordpress MU 2.9.2
Buddypress 1.2.1 with all buddypress features used.
The error I had with 0.1.2 and 0.1.3. was that when you clicked on the picture to make it big it would dissapear under an activity stream. This is no longer an issue as with 0.1.4 it no longer works at all.
This is the error that shows up at the top of the header,

I am only having one issue when blog member owners try to upload picks it is giving the error “permissions” incorrect ” in a red banner across blog members area, where they add their picks. ? no mater which is selected none are being excepted? help when and if you can is appreciated

is it possible upload multiple files som how? I have 500 pictures i want to upload into an album(and in the future to 5 albums).

Album was working, now when I click on the Album link of one of my users I get returned to the home page for the site.
If you are referring to RiderGroups.com it seem to be ok, at least I tried to go on some members profile and was able to see their pics. If problem is not solved or if you have other issues please post here
Yeah my bad. I found the issue after posting here and forgot to let you know. It was a space in the slug name…stupid mistake on my part. Thanks for checking, you have a great plugin.
do you know when you might have albums functioning for groups?
in 0.2.0 that will be released in some days there are multiple albums, multiple upload, taxonomy, member tags, advanced cache, but not album for group sorry, that feature will be in 0.3. we are targeting 0.3 for end of May, begin of June.
the plugin work very good (I’m running MU 2.9.2/Buddypress 1.2.3) but when I upload the image my layout crash.
It doesn’t seem to work very good if it crashes your layout

I have to close comments to this page, most comment I receive are support request and I hardly have time to giving support on bp.org forum, so if you wanna feedback or asking support for bp-album you have to ask there http://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-album/forum/
There are at least 3 reasons because I prefer giving support there:
- each issue has it’s own topic and everything is tidier
- other members of the community can give support there
- other members with the same problem read the solution
Right now there are more than a dozen pending comment to this page (I hadn’t received pending comment notifications for a stupid issue with this server when mailing itself) so sorry if I don’t reply to every single comment, instead I’ll try a global replay:

- ‘Please add this feature…’: see above, each feature requested here have already been discussed there
- ‘You are late with the stable of bp-album’: I know and I’m sorry, consider the current dev version is drastically different from the last stable and have continuously been adding new features, so it took more time than we expected.
